THE MINISTRY OF JESUS WAS ALWAYS LOVE FIRST
Call Me Rod.
Rev. Rod Brayfindley has served four other churches in his career. He is a frequent speaker at church events throughout the Western USA and is author of the adult spiritual curriculum The Awed Life as well as many songs sung in churches, collected in Songs for the Awed Life. Rod earned a Masters in Divinity from SMU Perkins School of Theology and received the B’nai B’rith Harold M. Kaufman Award in Social Ethics upon graduation. Rod's hobbies include languages, sports, karate, reading, and walking. Rod loves the sciences, his favorite being Geology and paleobiology.
Rod is happily married to JB Brayfindley who has been a journalist, a church organist, a choir director, a school music teacher, and a business owner. Almost ten years ago she refocused her teaching career around Special Education, got her masters from Humboldt State University and teaches in Nevada County. She spends several days a week at the home of her mother, Myrtle Findley, who attended First UMC in Sacramento for a short while in the 1940s and now lives in Colfax, California. Jb’s Dad, Bob Findley, was a United Methodist pastor. She and Rod have two kids, Isak and Eva, and welcomed a third into their lives, Amanda, who has given Rod and Jb two grandkids.
