A group study called n a k e d NOW starts in January

This small group study will offer an emersion in spirutual practices as well as discussion of our everyday experiences and their connection to the holy. For more events, classes and opportunities for growth & connection, see current offerings.

Sabeel Conference: A Time for Justice - Supporting Human Rights in Palestine-Israel - A Conference for Peacemakers

Friday and Saturday, March 16 & 17

This conference will provide educational and networking opportunities for organizations, churches, and individuals advocating a just peace for all the people of Palestine and Israel.  

Second Sunday Luncheons

First FUMC is holding potluck lunches and presentations every second Sunday, noon to 1:30 p.m., in the Terrace Room. Presentations will focus on significant issues facing the church, community, Leadership Team or other topics. Bring a salad to share; drinks will be provided. Second Saturday in Midtown

Midtown Sacramento is abuzz every Second Saturday of the month. The 21st and J Street neighborhood is filled with art, great food, and interesting programs. As part of this event, First UMC is hosting a variety of activities, including the “Searching for Safeground” Film Festival on the following dates at 5 p.m.:

  • Oct.   8 – Episode 1 “Third World America”
  • Nov. 12 – Episode 2 “Outside In”
  • Dec. 10 – Episode 3 “Where Will I Stay Tonight”
  • Jan. 14 – Episode 4 “It Is What It Is”
  • Feb. 11 – Episode 5 “Now What?”
