First United Methodist Church is located at the corner of 21^st and J Streets in midtown Sacramento. Although the address is 2100 J Street, the actual sanctuary and chapel entrances are off 21^st Street. The church office entrance is located on J Street where you can “buzz-in” at this entrance.

First United Methodist Church has an entrance for those needing special help. A handicapped ramp which will accommodate walkers, wheelchairs, and motorized chairs is located by the wrought iron gate, between the chapel and sanctuary, off 21^st Street. On Sunday mornings the gate opens at 9:00 a.m. with someone in attendance to be of help to those in need. The gate closes at noon on Sunday.

Directions

From Interstate 5
Take the I-5 Freeway south to the J Street exit. Drive east on J Street to 21^st where the church is located. (J Street is a one-way street going east).

From Highway 50
Take Highway 50 west into town. Take Reno exit ramp to right, staying to the right, and exit at N Street. Follow 30^th Street to L Street. Turn left on L and proceed to 21^st Street. Turn right at 21^st Street traveling for 2 blocks to J Street.

From North Sacramento via Highway 80
Travel South on Highway 80 into downtown Sacramento. Take the J Street exit to 29^th Street to K Street or L Street. Turn right on K or L and proceed to 21^st Street. Turn right at 21^st Street to J Street.

From Highway 99
Travel north on Highway 99 into downtown Sacramento. Take the N Street exit to 30^th Street to L Street. Turn left on L and proceed to 21^st Street. Turn right at 21^st Street traveling for 2 blocks to J Street.

From West Sacramento
Travel east on Highway 80, traveling over the river (Pioneer Bridge) to the 15^th Street off ramp. Continue on X Street to 21^st Street. Turn left and proceed to J Street.

Parking

Parking for Sunday Service is located in two parking lots off J Street and adjacent to the church. Parking during the week can be found in the small lot off J Street. In the evening during the week you can also park in the larger lot at the corner of 22^nd and J Streets. The larger parking lot can be reached by entering the smaller lot off J Street or the alley between 21^st and 22^nd Streets.  There is additional parking across the alley from the church parking lot which can be used on evenings and on Sundays. This lot is unavailable to the church on weekdays.    Parking can also be found on the streets around the church. On Sundays there is no cost for street parking. On other days, meters require a quarter for each 15 minutes of parking time.
