The Reconciling Team at FUMC is pleased to inaugurate its 2017 LGBTQ lecture series with a talk by JoAnna Michaels.
JoAnna is a transgender woman who grew up Catholic in the Chicago suburbs during the 1950s and ’60s. She served in the U.S. Air Force for 7 years as a survival instructor during the Vietnam War, married the woman who is the love of her life, had a daughter, and became a successful restaurant manager. JoAnna’s talk will highlight the difficulty of coming to terms with her gender identity over the decades, and the relationships that ultimately suffered as a result of her transition.
Please join us to hear this amazing speaker on Tuesday, May 9th at 7:00pm in our Chapel.
