First United Methodist Church is called to the ministry of reconciliation. We affirm that all people are created in the image of God. We celebrate our human family’s diversity of sexual orientation, gender identity, race, ethnicity, national origin, age, faith history, economic status, marital status, education, and physical and mental ability. We welcome all as beloved children of God.

It was such a blessing to be able to participate in the Safe Ground Winter Shelter program again on Friday night, December 26. We were able to provide a hot meal and overnight shelter in a safe and warm environment in the Terrace Room.
We served about 25 men & 35 women. The women slept in the Library, the men in the Terrace Room on mats and sleeping bags provided by Safe Ground from their office at Loaves & Fishes. Dinner was prepared by Dick Johnson, Walt Edwards and Richard Pervorse. Richard and Dave Coburn stayed overnight.
